Our Story
When we both signed up for a Political Science class at MPC during the spring of 2006, neither of us would have predicted that we would meet our future partner there.
Sarah: At first, I was really upset because I thought I was going to State. However I was told by the school that some of the classes I took from MN didn’t transfer and Political Science was one of them. I quickly signed up at MPC, ready to be done with the semester before it even started.
Josh: Until she met me, that is. I spotted her on the first day of class. I turned to my friend and said "See her, that’s my future wife".
Sarah: He didn’t approach me until the second week though. I was walking out of class and he nodded his head to me he said "Sarah" I said "Hi" and kept walking. I figured if he really likes me, he would follow me, which he did.
Josh: I caught up with her and introduced myself. I walked with her to her car and asked her out. I still remember that when we got to her car, she asked me "If I wanted a soda," then she popped her trunk and there were at least five cases of soda in there. That was the introduction to one of many quirks.
Sarah: First of all, I kept them in there because I was renting a room, with limited fridge space and they stayed cold in there. Second of all, I was being polite by offering it to you. Anyway he blew the first date by calling after 7 on the night we were supposed to go out; I had already made other plans. I thought he was just a party guy and we really didn't say anything after that. Then one day in class, I had given a comment on a political issue. He quickly raised his hand and gave a really good counter to my argument and I realized I had misjudged him. Later I was in the coffee shop. He came in and I said "Hi" and we started talking. He asked me out again and I accepted.
Josh: Our first date was at a Chinese Restaurant. Everything was really natural. She was easy to talk to, down to earth and funny. As I got to know her more and more I realized how great she is.
Sarah: I was hooked after that first date. I still have the fortune from my cookie. I kept it not because of what it said which was "You love sports, horses and gambling, but not to excess," but because of what I wished it had said. I liked Josh more on the first date, than I had ever liked anyone. We spent every day after that together because we just wanted to be with each other.
